About
Astellas began its operation in Hungary in 2006. Yamanouchi had been present in the country for approximately a decade, creating a firm base with physicians and patients for the company's urological, dermatological, and anti-infective products. Fujisawa appeared in the local market around 2002, with a portfolio of innovative products for post-transplantation therapy and dermatological conditions. After the two companies merged, Astellas was able to bring out the best features of its predecessors, combining them in an effective way to ensure the continued growth and success of the organisation.
Astellas has since become an established, trusted name with both patients and physicians in the fields of Urology, Dermatology, and Transplantation. Its innovative treatments are well received, and our experienced, professional sales force have developed strong, well-established relationships with healthcare professionals working in the company's key therapeutic areas.
As an organisation, we are committed to providing high-level scientific information and educational services to our customers and to continuing to make a real difference in the lives of patients through our strategic products. We also strongly support the idea of a better environment and more effective methods of communication within healthcare, where doctors and patients can work together for a healthier society. To further support this vision, we launched the Physician of the Year Award two years ago, a highly successful initiative whereby patients can vote for the doctors they feel deserve recognition for their professional efforts, commitment, and supportive attitude towards their patients.
